Background:
What’s 3D Printing?
3D printing or additive manufacturing (AM) refers to any of the various processes for printing a three-dimensional object. Primarily additive processes are used, in which successive layers of material are laid down under computer control. These objects can be of almost any shape or geometry, and are produced from a 3D model or other electronic data source. A 3D printer is a type of industrial robot.
What’s FDM?
Fused deposition modeling (FDM) is an additive manufacturing technology commonly used for modeling, prototyping, and production applications. FDM works on an "additive" principle by laying down material in layers; a plastic filament or metal wire is unwound from a coil and supplies material to produce a part.
What’s ABS/PLA/HIPS?
Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) (chemical formula (C8H8)x· (C4H6)y·(C3H3N)z) is a commonthermoplastic, derived from acrylonitrile, butadiene, and styrene. ABS combines the strength and rigidity of acrylonitrile and styrene polymerswith the toughness of polybutadiene rubber.
Poly(lactic acid) or polylactide(PLA) is a biodegradable thermoplastic aliphatic polyester derived fromrenewable resources, such as corn starch (in the United States), tapioca roots, chips or starch (mostly in Asia), or sugarcane(in the rest of the world).
HIPS - High Impact Polystyrene, it is a tough, rigid plastic material with high impact strength which can be guillotined, punched, routered or sawn easily, and is readily available in a wide variety of colors. For good impact properties usage, HIPS is a first choice material. Polystyrene is particularly suitable for thermoforming meaning various shapes and objects can be produced from this material.

Siridi (Wuhan) 3D Printer Supplies Co., Ltd. was established on the base of several overseas returnees from United States with core technology & patents, and an American industry leader in 3D printing field in early 2013, with an initial investment of US$20 million. The Chinese manufacturing plant in Wuhan mainly deals with imported material processing and serves as an overseas workshop for the American strategic partner/investor, with the aim of reducing the manpower cost, as above 70% finished products are going to be shipped back to USA, EU etc. for reselling. Currently, we have two overseas warehouses, with location in USA & Germany respectively (more are pending).

2.1 Production Process
I. Before producing & extruding filament, we will dry ABS and PLA raw material for a enough time (3-5 hours).
II. Mix with colors master batch or colors powder, all are certified with ROHS.
III. Adjust the temperature and dragging rate, make filament diameter range at 1.6-1.8mm/2.8-3.0mm, roundness +/-0.01mm, each spool net weight 1kg+/-0.02kg.
IV we put all filament spools in shelf, different kinds in different shelves, all categories are arranged in order.
2. 2 Quality control
I. we have diameter laser detect kits to control extruding rate on line, once diameter is smaller or higher than the acceptable range, the laser detect kits will adjust the extruding rate higher or smaller to make diameter range suit.
II. Keep record of each filament sample sent to customers, build a traceable document.
III. If the filaments have been put on shelf longer than half a year, we will dry the filament again.
2.3. About waste & recycle
We produced without any scrap, rework or recycle material, or disposed, but for quality assurance purpose, we use 100% virgin plastic raw material.
2.4. Packing
Each filament /spool are sealed in a vacuum PE bag with desiccant, then in a single small carton, then 12 cartons in a bigger box .We also have vacuum heated PE bag for option, to prevent moisture from filament.
2.5. Research & Development
We have engineers with specialty in color formulation, plastic modification, quality control, production control; customized requirement could be comprehensively satisfied.
Package:
All our 3D printing filaments are sealed in a vacuum plastic bag and packed inside a thick carton outside, ensuring stable quality after long-time sea shipment.
